Here is where I plan to keep some short videos and a few pictures taken from my phone while out on the water for my clients, their friends, family and everyone else to view. It’s often hard to manage the happenings on the boat and capture the moment, not to mention that I am a little technically challenged, so please accept the quality for what it is.
-Capt. Sandy Melvin
Dan Doerr and neighbor Jim had a good day!
Bob Melvin,(my dad), and friend Bob Boyd had a great day catching Redfish!
Leigh Gale and John Winterer had a fun day catching a backcountry slam..Redfish,Snook,Speckled Trout along with a flounder and even a couple of fine catfish.

John treated Barbara to some great Boca Grande redfishing for Barbara’s birthday gift. Here’s Barbara in action,, and again while John follows up here, and also with the biggest of the day! The reds really “chewed” today. It was a little breezy so the sound is poor, but is is a cell phone after all!
Dick and Tom slipped down from Minnesota, took a break from golf and went fishing on a wedding weekend…Good move! It was a great day for Redfish on light tackle! Here is Dick in action…and again with the biggest of the day! Tom catches them too!..and Tom with one and sunscreen on the lense…Sure beats Walleye…Eh! boys:) Go Tar Heels!
Today it was the Brad, Nikki and Todd show in the backcountry. At least “big fish” Brad and ”totaled it” Tood caught redfish, Nikki was the catfish queen! Here’s Brad showing off again! Todd is off to Afganistan next week…if the hurt he put on the redfish is any indication, they better look out over there!
Sorry, but I forgot this anglers name, but I do remember the Snook!
Maria and Russ caught a beautiful fall day in Boca Grande along with Kingfish and lots of Spanish Mackeral! Here’s one of Maria’s many Spanish, and Russ showing how to catch a Spanish Mack on a fly! As often happens, here are a few dolphin riding our wake and having a big time as we head to the Pass for a tarpon trip.

7 year old William Waterhouse lands a really big tarpon, with a little help from Dad!
Jay and Peter caught a lot of Tarpon on this trip. Peter’s videos were too long for YouTube, and I don’t know how to edit them yet, but Jay’s made the cut. Unfortunately we had two of Jay’s releases get eaten by a serious wolfpack of Bull Sharks. Here’s Jay’s first catch, and the aftermath, another one and the end. Here’s another of Jay’s catch and releases that made it. We only saw two of seven get eaten by sharks, so I guess we have to deal with the fact that Sharks have to eat too. I’m not sure why the sound from my phone sometimes refuses to transfer to YouTube, but it might be for the best in this case
At sunset, Brian lands his first tarpon, and it’s a big one!
